Backyard Swing Set
If your child does not have a backyard swing set
the obvious question is "Why not?"
There are so many
reasons to own one which we will detail here. But clearly the
best reason is simply that it is fun for all ages. You can get
swings with legs and supports for even the smallest child. Go
to the park and it's not unusual to see teenagers sitting on a
swing, gently rocking back and forth while talking to their
friends. And of course pre-teens can be seen soaring to heights
hitherto unknown to them.
Put one in your backyard and you not
only have a fun place for the kids to hang out, but you create
family time as well. You'll be outside cooking on the grill
while the kids are right there with you, conversing while
laughing and playing.
A backyard swing set is also great for
exercise. We all know child obesity is a growing problem.
Children spend way too much time in front of the television
playing their favorite video games. A swing set is just as
enjoyable and it's active. They'll burn calories and also build
strength climbing up the ladders, ropes or hanging from the
money bars.
A swing set will develop other good
things as well. Coordination increases as they pump their legs
at the right time to swing higher or let go of one hand while
grabbing the next on the monkey bars.. Balance improves on
things like the teeter totter and rope ladder. They need to
transfer balance on the rope ladder and even have to stay
balanced as they get off the ladder and on to the slide. And
the imagination flourishes as the children play in the built in
sandbox, making up new games or constructing the newest sand
castle..
Just as important is the fact that
your child will learn to play well with others. Not everyone
can slide down the sliding board at the same time. They have to
take turns and cooperate with each other. The same goes for
several other backyard swing set features where sharing must be
done for everyone to have a good time.
Of course if the set includes a large
tire swing, several kids can swing at the same time. But they
still have to get along and work together to make the swing go
in the right direction and at a speed they all agree
on.
One of the biggest concerns about
swing sets is safety. But most swing sets today are constructed
to be incredibly safe and sturdy. In fact your child will be
safer here than they will on a swing at a public park. After
all, they are in the backyard where you can keep an eye on them
at all times.
Backyard swing sets have been around
seemingly forever. Yet they have changed in that they are now
safer and sturdier than ever before. Get one today, even a
small one. As your child grows or your finances improve you can
always expand it and add more items for your child to play
on.
